Frequently Asked Questions About our Pottery Club
Pottery Club FAQs
-
Our club differs from a school in that we don’t have a syllabus, a teacher, or a specific type of project planned for any given night. Members can still learn with our facilitators, but they’ll also be encouraged to try fun clay related crafts, participate in fun activities, and have opportunities to be part of club related field trips and adventures.
-
Members will be charged a membership fee automatically once per month. Membership fees are subject to change based on material costs, and additional expenses the studio my incur. For more information please read our terms & conditions page.
-
We want our members to have plenty of personal space to store tools, and projects they are working on. We’ll provide dedicated shelving for each member that can store tools, clay, and projects on.
Our premium storage benefit means we are members with more private space than traditional pottery studios.
We will not be offering community shelving space for storage. Members are asked to keep their tools, pots, and clay on their personal carts.
-
We want our members to stress less about buying and using clay, and focus more on enjoying it.
Members can simply request more clay when they are out, allowing them to practice more, and explore clay in ways they wouldn’t in a normal school or community studio environment.
Our unlimited clay and free firings can be used to complete personal projects, gifts for friends and family, and learning exercises, but not for production.
-
Our unlimited clay and firings offer is not permitted for use by members to complete large volume clay projects intended for sale in galleries, for sale at art shows, as commissions for revenue generation, or for any other use deemed as sales and production based.
Production pottery work is not permitted at the Wheel & Slab pottery studio.
-
While the studio doesn’t allow production work to be produced, we know our members may need ways to move their pots.
Members can sell work casually at approved locations such as the Wheel & Slab studio gallery and the annual WNY Pottery festival.
For more information, please check our production policy.
-
Club memberships is primarily reserved for adults, ages 18 or older.
