Big Pots and Teapots: Workshop with Artist Kyle Lascelle
We are excited to welcome Rochester, NY based ceramic artist Kyle Lascelle, for a one-night-only workshop at Wheel & Slab Pottery Club on Friday, March 14th, 2025. Join us for a night full of demonstrations, great stories, and food!

Workshop Details and Focus:
Kyle is known for making large-scale jars, pitchers and teapots adorned with one-of-a-kind illustrations, and sculptural components.
Kyle will demonstrate his process for making large pots and teapots, showcasing his approach to throwing, assembling, and refining complex forms. He’ll also share how he incorporates sculptural details, illustrations, and written messages into his pieces—giving insight into the creative choices that make his work so unique.
Attendees will have the opportunity to ask Kyle questions about his techniques, inspirations, and career as a ceramic artist. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced potter, this workshop will provide valuable insights into both functional and decorative ceramic work.
And, of course, we’re making it a potluck dinner! Bring a dish to share, enjoy great company, and spend the evening immersed in ceramics.

About Artist Kyle Lascelle
Kyle Lascelle is a Rochester-based ceramic artist with a passion for storytelling through form and surface. With an MFA from the School for American Crafts at RIT, Kyle has honed his skills in both functional pottery and sculptural ceramics. He has exhibited nationally, with work featured in shows such as Strictly Functional Pottery National and the Memorial Art Gallery Fine Craft Show.

Kyle’s pottery is known for its balance of technical precision and artistic expression. His large vessels and teapots feature beautiful integrated sculptural elements and hand-drawn illustrations, often infused with personal meaning, quirky syle, and narrative depth. Drawing inspiration from philosophy, history, and everyday life, Kyle’s work is a reflection of both craftsmanship and storytelling.
